Accepting the gift of Acceptance

What does the world need from us right now?

The world needs us to show up, to show that we are powerful; it wants us to understand our worth and to believe in the truth in order to change the world. What is the truth? The truth is a universal acceptance. To accept whoever we cross paths with, irrespective of how distinguished they are from us and what we believe our truth to be. We're all made up of flesh and blood, we're all human. We must not judge each other and hurt each other, instead be self-aware of the conflicts we have raging within ourselves.

In today's scenario, complexion, religion, sexual orientation, lifestyle and physical choices cannot be parameters which give us the right to hold biases against or judge anybody. We as humans are facing a lot of issues but at the end of it, does that give us the right to hurt someone? Does that give us the right to categorize someone as inferior or superior?

The world is surrounded by many negative feelings, people, vibes and actions. Nothing else is more important than empathy for other human being's suffering. Factors like career, wealth, intelligence and status are secondary, understanding the importance of acceptance and the feeling of oneness is primary. We have to feel for one another if we are going to thrive with dignity.

There are certain things we should be deeply concerned about, the impact of racism, gender parity and injustice can be seen in almost all aspects of everyday life. Black and indigenous people are more likely to be jailed or unemployed. Talking about facts in New York city, 88℅ of police stops in 2018 involved Black and Latin people, while 10℅ involved white people (of those 70% of black people were completely innocent). Black women are 3 to 4 times more likely to experience a pregnancy related death than white women, even at similar levels of income and education. There are no official records however, the government of India submitted figures to the Supreme Court in 2012, according to which, there were about 2.5 million gay people recorded in India. Despite of this about 35% of the population opposed same sex marriages, same sex couples are not allowed to adopt and have not been allowed to join the military. Is humanity so substandard? We need to understand the origin of these heinous atrocities.  We must never adjust ourselves to racial segregation. We must never adjust ourselves to religious bigotry. Humanity has no caste, creed or religion; it only knows the language of love which we all have learnt, ever since we have joined our schooling. Maybe we all have failed to understand the gravity and sensitivity of issues like racism, gender parity, police brutality. Like us, even George Floyd had big plans in life, but the deep rooted pillars of racism in the minds of the accused, crushed all his dreams, his faith and trust on humanity and his only mistake was that he was born black. We talk about equality and justice but here ironically the law enforcers are the ones spoiling the society. It feels like racism is a stagnant yet rising curse in society, which needs to be crushed.

We are the future and tomorrow we will be the ones facing the responsibilities of the world, this is our world and is run by our beliefs, hence we should choose them wisely. One should be in love with the soul not with the colour of the skin. This is our wakening call, a chance for us to change in order to revolutionize the stigma, the faulty notions and the orthodox mentality which our society inherently holds since its inception. We will have to develop a sense of good will. We should take this chance to broaden our perspectives and to understand and accept the gift of acceptance.
